Client Experiences
What Malaysian Business Leaders Say
Organisations across procurement, governance, and technology have worked with Citra Digital to build practical AI capability. Here is what they found.
Client Reviews
Directly from Clients
These accounts reflect genuine conversations and engagements — not marketing language.
"We brought Citra Digital in to look at our procurement spend across six categories. Within eight weeks their team had identified consolidation opportunities we had completely missed. The dashboard they built is still in daily use — our category managers consult it before any significant purchase decision."
"Our board had been receiving AI-related papers for over a year without a strong framework to evaluate them. The two sessions Citra Digital ran changed how we ask questions and what we expect from management on this topic. I would have appreciated a short follow-up reference document, but the sessions themselves were well-calibrated to a board audience."
"The multimodal application design engagement gave us something we had been unable to produce internally — a clear, defensible technical specification that our engineering team could actually build from. Nadia and Kevin were collaborative throughout, particularly during the architecture review stage."
"What I appreciated most was that they did not oversell. From the first call, the scope was realistic and the pricing was transparent. The procurement optimisation work paid for itself before the engagement formally closed — the supplier scoring model alone changed how we approach tender evaluation."
"The board literacy programme was more practically grounded than we expected. Rather than theory about AI in general, the content was shaped around our sector's actual regulatory environment. Our Chairman walked away with three specific questions he now asks of any AI proposal."
"We engaged Citra Digital specifically because they understand the constraints of Malaysian organisations — data sovereignty concerns, BNM considerations, and internal change management. Their multimodal design work integrated those constraints from the start rather than treating them as afterthoughts."
In-Depth
Selected Case Studies
Three engagements examined in more detail — the context, the work, and the outcome.
Procurement Spend Analysis — Shah Alam Manufacturer
A mid-sized industrial components manufacturer was spending across 11 categories with over 80 active suppliers. Management suspected significant overlap and missed consolidation value, but the procurement team lacked the analytical tools to quantify it.
Citra Digital structured three years of purchase order data and applied AI-assisted spend classification to identify category boundaries, supplier duplication, and demand patterns. We built a supplier scoring model weighted for delivery reliability, price consistency, and local compliance. A live dashboard was delivered to the procurement manager and two category leads, with a half-day training session.
The organisation identified RM 340,000 in addressable spend consolidation across four categories within the first quarter post-engagement. The supplier base in two categories was reduced from 14 vendors to 6 without disrupting supply continuity. The dashboard remains in active use.
"The numbers were there all along. Citra Digital gave us the structure to see them clearly."
Board AI Literacy — Financial Services GLC
A government-linked financial institution's board was facing growing pressure from management and external stakeholders to develop a coherent AI governance stance. Directors were technically diverse — from legal and audit backgrounds to corporate finance — and needed a shared vocabulary and risk framework before any board-level AI policy could be drafted.
Two 90-minute sessions were structured around the board's existing governance documents and sector-specific considerations including BNM's Risk Management in Technology framework. Session one covered AI fundamentals and how decisions made at management level translate into board-level risk. Session two examined fiduciary duties, emerging regulatory expectations, and a live case discussion drawn from a comparable regional institution.
Within 60 days, the board adopted a formal AI oversight item on its risk committee agenda. Three board members reported using the framework from the sessions when reviewing the organisation's forthcoming digital transformation paper. Management noted improved quality and specificity of board questions on AI-related agenda items.
"Our Chairman now asks specific, structured questions about AI risk. That shift came directly from the Citra Digital sessions."
Multimodal App Design — Property Technology Firm
A property technology startup had an idea for an AI application that would process property listing photos, agent voice notes, and structured MIS data to generate buyer-match recommendations. The internal team had strong mobile development skills but no experience designing AI pipelines that combined multiple data modalities.
Citra Digital conducted use case validation workshops, mapped the data flows across three input modalities, and evaluated model selection options for image analysis, audio transcription, and recommendation logic. Integration strategy was documented for their existing AWS environment. UX planning sessions were run alongside the technical architecture work to ensure the recommendation interface was operable by non-technical agents in the field.
The engagement delivered a 47-page technical specification document that the client's development team used as the direct basis for their engineering sprint planning. The first working prototype was completed 14 weeks after the Citra Digital engagement concluded — significantly ahead of the client's original internal estimate.
"We finally had a document that our developers could actually build from. That was the gap Citra Digital filled."
